GENERATOR 6 - SYNTH DEVICE
Now Available - Orders will ship throughout the week of July 1st.
The Generator series are creative sonic tools.
Call me crazy, but I've always wanted some simple sound generating / noise making devices that could exist easily among other pedals for guitar/bass/keyboard/etc players. There are many builds of similar devices for tabletop or eurorack use, but many are in more fragile enclosures and would require a/b pedals or other routing to work in a guitar set up - all of which takes up more space, adds to the expense, and simply isn't that practical.
When engaged the input signal is muted and the Generator pedal takes over. When disengaged the Generator pedal is true bypass and has no effect on your tone.
GENERATOR 6
An oscillator with quite a few tricks up it's sleeve. Generator 6 is the closest to sounding like an old school synthesizer in the Generator line. Along with the 70s vibes, it is also capable of bizarre sounds and noises.
FREQUENCY, RATE, and SHIFT are the heart of the Oscillator, while the FILTER knob provides a resonant low pass filter to control the tone and provide interesting filter sweeps. With MUTATE turned off ("Starve Only"), and the STARVE knob all the way down, you will have predictable performance and classic sounds from the oscillator.
With MUTATE engaged, things get a bit more weird.... Squawking, Pulsing, etc... And it is normal that some settings will produce no output from the pedal. The MUTATE knob tends to work best with the RATE knob above noon, but in certain settings there are good things to be found with lower RATE settings as well....
The STARVE knob allows you to give less power to Oscillator, creating lots of strange and interesting sounds. As you remove power from the device it is once again possible to find settings with no output, especially with MUTATE engaged. But that's ok, just keep turning those knobs.... Also note that with the MUTATE switch in "STARVE ONLY" position that the MUTATE knob will have some interesting effects when the power is starved. Enjoy!
NOTICE / ATTENTION:
When Generator 6 is initially connected to a 9V power supply there is a 5 - 10 second warm up period during which the unit will produce no sound or very faint sounds as the circuit stabilizes.
This occurs whether or not the pedal is turned on or off by the foot switch during this time.
After this initial warm up time, the foot switch will work as expected and Generator 6 will immediately start or stop making sound as the pedal is turned on and off.
Generator 6 will not need another 5 - 10 second warm up period until the pedal is disconnected from the 9V power supply.
